Jennifer Hopson

My name is Jennifer Hopson and I teach Kindergarten and am also the cheer coach at CHS. I taught PE for years before teaching Kinder. I have been married to my husband, Cody, for 17 years. We have 3 children and a Golden Retriever. Slayde (14 yrs), Jayleigh (11 yrs) and Hadley (4yrs), and Sarge (10 months). We also have 4 foster children that will forever be in our hearts. I grew up in White Oak and went to Kilgore College for 2 years on a cheerleading scholarship and then transferred to Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State. My degree is in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in business. I was blessed to win the 2000 UCA All Women’s Cheerleading Championship with my team and we were recognized at the state capital for our success. I taught group fitness classes while in college and have continued to do so now for 22 years. I am a franchise owner with Camp Gladiator and enjoy coaching early mornings and a few evening boot camps. My family has attended New Beginnings Baptist Church for 14 years where I help to teach the 6th-grade girls Life Group. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, coaching, shopping, and much more! If I had a day to just do whatever I wanted I would probably want to be relaxing by the water in the sunshine somewhere! My favorite part of teaching Kindergarten is when the children read a word for the first time and watching their little faces light up with excitement. God does amazing things in Kindergarten and I am humbled to be a part of HIS work with these children.
