Senior Spotlight - Brennen Moss

April 19, 2019
By Brennen Moss - CHCS Senior
Brennen Moss, CHCS Senior, has attended Christian Heritage since the 6th grade when his family relocated from Dallas to the Longview area. He has been involved in several extracurricular activities and events here at CHCS and is looking forward to utilizing those experiences during the next stage of his academic career at Mississippi College (on FULL academic scholarship). Below are a few memories that he has cherished throughout his time here. Congratulations Brennen on your academic achievement and pursuit of excellence for the Glory of God!
Brennen shares a reflection on his experience at Christian Heritage:
Christian Heritage Classical School proves to be an excellent environment to both learn and grow intellectually and spiritually. The teachers are challenging, engaging, and use Christ-centered methods to truly demonstrate their love for teaching. My friends in the Senior Class are intelligent, supportive, and truly demonstrate Christ-like characteristics. I can confidently say that I have been as prepared as one can be for college from my experience here. CHCS taught me how to think critically, form effective and efficient arguments from the rules of rhetoric, and firmly stand in my beliefs as a Christian. These are invaluable skills and are in short supply in the world. I learned these skills through our Rhetoric and Worldview classes, as well as our Senior thesis assignment. In the thesis project, seniors are tasked with discussing a world problem, formulating an effective and coherent stance, an argument, along with a solution. I tackled the moral debate of Human Euthanasia as my Senior Thesis topic. This assignment was a staple to my High School career at CHCS.

Along with the educational core classes, CHCS also provides fantastic extra-curricular activities. I participated in our theater department and choir all four years in High School. We performed many shows such as The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Pride and Prejudice. Also, I participated in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region competition in which I advanced to the state level auditions every year. The values that are taught and learned at CHCS will be valuable for my time at Mississippi College, my job field, and the remainder of my life beyond that.

Brennen was recently acknowledge at Mississipi College for his outstanding academic achievement and awarded scholarship. For that full article click here!
