Cyndi is a Longview native who graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.M. in Piano Performance and Certificate of Pedagogy. After graduating, she went on to teach piano and music history at Coppell Conservatory of Music.

In 2001, she married her husband, Wes, and moved to East Texas to open a private piano studio. Thirteen years and four kids later, she decided the classroom was calling and went back to complete Texas' certification testing in K-12 education. In 2016, she discovered her true calling as a humanities teacher at Christian Heritage. She is passionate about history and literature, encouraging her students to listen to the generations who have gone before, ponder their unique circumstances, and wonder at their place in God's sovereign plan.

Cyndi and Wes have four children -- a daughter who graduated CHS and attends Texas Tech University, and three sons currently enrolled at CHS. In her spare time, Mrs. Brumit still enjoys playing piano, reading, and spending time with her family.
