Why did you choose to go into teaching? “I knew I wanted to work with children and help them learn to read so they could read God’s Word. I thought God wanted me to be a missionary in China and teaching would provide an open door into the communist country. God did allow me to teach in China for a season, but I returned to teaching in public schools for most of my career. I am thankful for the students and families I’ve had the opportunity to meet through these thirty-seven years in education and continue to pray God will use me as He provides the opportunities.”
What do you love about CHCS? “After 33 years in public education, I knew CHCS was a special place when I heard the students singing hymns when lining up after recess! I’m thankful for the kindness of the people and the community that honors God! A school should have an encouraging and respectful environment and I believe CHCS reflects that expectation.”
