Our Rhetoric Football Team is heading to STATE! Please cheer them on Thursday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. in Waco, TX. 

 

Congratulations to five CHCS rhetoric choir students who were recently named to the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) 2022 All-Region High School Choir.

Auditions were held on Saturday, October 15, at Sulphur Springs High School in Sulphur Springs, TX. Competing on challenging eight-part music against high school singers from area public and private schools, the following students were named to the Large School Mixed All-Region Choir:


• Jed Bowers, freshman - 4th chair, Bass I Section
• Cade Brumit, senior - 1st chair, Bass II Section
• Clayton Darby, senior - 2nd chair, Bass I Section
• Jackson Darby, senior - 1st chair, Bass I Section
• Garrett White, freshman - 8th chair, Bass I Section
 

In addition to receiving their 2022 TMEA All-Region Choir letter-jacket patch, these students performed in the Region IV All-Region Choir Concert held at Sulphur Springs High School on November 5. This formal concert featured both the high school and middle school region choirs and was open to the public. 
 

We are so proud of these talented students and wish them the best as they advance to the next level of competition in the TMEA All-State Choir audition process on December 1.

Congratulations to five CHCS logic school choir students who were recently named to the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) 2022 All-Region Middle School Choir.

Auditions were held on Saturday, October 8, at Sulphur Springs Middle School in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Competing against approximately 250 seventh and eighth-grade students from area public and private schools, the following students were named to the Treble All-Region (girls) and Tenor-Bass All-Region (boys) Choirs:


• Jayleigh Hopson, 7th grade - 5th chair, Soprano I Section
• Kinsey Marshall, 8th grade - 7th chair, Soprano II Section
• Kaitlynn Minor, 7th grade - 5th chair, Alto Section
• Kate Mitchell, 8th grade - 4th chair, Alto Section (not pictured)
• Rayden Porter, 8th grade - 7th chair, Bass Section
 

In addition to receiving their 2022 TMEA All-Region Choir letter-jacket patch, these students performed in the Region IV All-Region Choir Concert held at Sulphur Springs High School on November 5. Congratulations to two CHCS strings students who were recently named to the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) 2022 All-Region Middle School and All-Region High School Orchestras.

Auditions were held on Saturday, October 8, at Kilgore Middle School in Kilgore, TX. Competing against area middle school and high school students from both public and private schools, the following students were named to the region orchestras:


• Will Grooters, 6th grade -  Violin, 2022 All-Region Middle School Orchestra
• Garrett White, freshman - Violin, 2022 All-Region High School Orchestra
 

In addition to receiving their 2022 TMEA All-Region Orchestra letter-jacket patch, these students will perform with their respective orchestras in the Region IV All-Region Orchestra Concert on Saturday, December 3, at Tyler High School in Tyler, TX. This formal concert will feature both orchestras and is open to the public. Admission is free. We are so proud of these talented violinists for representing CHCS so well!
